Evaluation

On Thursday the 18th march we did our evaluation infront of the class while being filmed and having the audience being filmed as well. We played our movie once to the audience and then the second time we paused it at specific points to tell the audience why we used that certain type of shot or camera angle ETC. We had alot of feedback pointing out specific areas that we needed to change. We learned that if we left our film without titles then we could not acheive no high than a Grade C. The changes were then made and the other two memebers of our group (Jamie and Martin) Will present the film again with the made changes.

Male conventions of film noir

The typical male conventions of film noir is that he is portrayed as being strong and fearless but does not say much in his role. Sometimes they are shown as being the hero and saving someone from danger. In film noir he gets into trouble but mostly gets out without being injured or killed.

In our 2 minute opening title sequence we did not use a femme fatale because she wouldn't have fitted the story line and if we used her instead of our main character it wouldn't have looked as creepy only males. The typical conventions of a male in film noir are perfect for our all male cast.. We are going to use this type of male in our OTS (Opening title Sequence.) This is because we are doing a film noir style OTS but with a modern twist to it. This means that the usual fearless hero who always survives the odds is changed in our modern Film.

Our Opening title sequence update

Our opening title sequence has nearly been completed. We are just making a few final adjustments and then it shall be uploaded to our blogs. We are also going to get other peoples views from outside the classroom. This should help us with our final evaluation and to change anything that needs to be changed

Femme Fatale

A femme fatale role is usaually to seduce the men and get them to fall at there feet. Femme fatale means deadly women in french and most film noire films use a femme fatale because she can get the hero of a film noire to do her bidding by either using her charm or sexual ways to seduce them. She is a very intersting character which is also why they are used in film noire alot.

Even though a femme fatale is common in most film noire movies we decided that we didnt want to use on in our opening title sequence because it wouldnt have fitted in with our story line very well and we may have had to change it if we involved a Femme Fatale
